Today, Japanese music magazine club Zy. published a special interview ahead of Crazy Monsters Halloween Party 2025, featuring Mana Sama (MALICE MIZER / Moi dix Mois), MSTR (Chisato/PENICILLIN, Crack6) and bassist IKUO.
When asked about the possibility of a MALICE MIZER reunion at revival events such as CROSS ROAD Fest, Mana responded:
Mana: “I received that offer as well, but right now, the only ones who are publicly active are Közi and myself, and we don’t have a vocalist. So it would be difficult to appear as MALICE MIZER.”
The comments shed light on the challenges behind a potential comeback for one of visual kei’s most influential bands. While other groups from the 90s, such as La’cryma Christi, have recently reunited, MALICE MIZER’s situation remains more complicated.
The interview was conducted just weeks before the Mystical Fest in Latin America, where Kaya and Közi performed several MALICE MIZER classics to an enthusiastic reception from fans.
Meanwhile, bassist Yu~ki remains active on Twitter, though not currently present as an artist.
These moments show how strong the legacy of MALICE MIZER remains worldwide. We continue to dream that one day a promoter might invite them for a Deep Sanctuary or even a full show as MALICE MIZER.
What do you think? With the global resurgence of visual kei and Japanese music, could we ever see a full MALICE MIZER reunion?
